For three days at a stretch, Amsterdam was the health interoperability capital of the world. Developers and architects from over all the world gathered together to learn more about FHIR. New tools and features like FluentPath and the Notepad++ FHIR Plugin were presented at DevDays. Founding Father of FHIR Grahame Grieve revealed the latest plans for FHIR and the community at DevDays.

Keynotes and Tutorials

With keynote speakers Micky Tripathi, Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, Casey Helfrich and Grahame Grieve the FHIR Developer Days 2016 showed the urge of FHIR for healthcare. Which was supported by the tutorials of the FHIR core team members Grahame Grieve, Lloyd McKenzie, Ewout Kramer, James Agnew and Josh Mandel and many other influential FHIR-speakers. With 30+ tutorials the participant experienced the FHIR DevDays as a information-rich and very useful event.

Hands on

During the hands-on sessions the participants teamed up to work on specific FHIR-themes under the guidance of a track leader. The goal was to learn, to hack and to connect to other people on the subject. The track topics included FHIR for .NET and Java Developers, Building Bridges: HL7 v2 and FHIR, CDA and FHIR, Clinical Decision Support, Continua: Personal Connected Health Devices and Applications, Apps in the EHR: Epic, Cerner & SMART on FHIR, MedMij – Dutch Personal Health Record, Imaging/DICOM, Logical Models, Profiling and openEHR, FHIR and Medical Research, Scheduling and Appointments, Terminology and the Clinical track.
